The Museum of Ancient Beekeeping (Senovinės bitininkystės muziejus) in Stripeikiai, (Aukštaitija National Park) Lithuania
Established in 1984 the museum hosts over 500 exhibits, which are located both indoors and outdoors illustrating traditions, mythology and history of beekeeping in Lithuania.
The honeybee is a symbol of friendship in Lithuania, synonym of the word “friend” (draugas) is “bičiulis” and it is derived from the word bee (bitė). At the 15th of August each year a fest is held called “Medkopio šventė”
Visitors are welcomed from May to October Tuesday-Sunday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
